If things haven't improved lately, use spadmin, then create PDF or FAXprinter and edit commandline to kprinter. Actually, choose PDF and the command is "kprinter --stdin". I'm using 9.3 still, but OOo-padmin opens the OO Printer Administration dialog. I have kprinter set up as the default.
