Is anyone using Opera 7.51 on 9.0 or 9.1? Where do you look for your registration number in Opera if you have a registration number? If I install the 7.51 rpm will my registration number be transfered to it? Thanks, Jerome

Hi Jerome If you have a reg. number for 7.50 ( or any 7.0) and upgrade to 7.51, it will automaticly register. -- Greetings from /bill at 169 west , 19 south. Disclaimer: Any errors in spelling, tact, or fact are transmission errors."

Click "Help" --> "Register Opera"
Greetings Hans Hello Hans, No luck, I'll just have to find where I wrote it down. Thanks, Jerome

Just send an email to Opera and you'll get an answer right away. -- Greetings from /bill at 169 west , 19 south. Disclaimer: Any errors in spelling, tact, or fact are transmission errors."

Jerome, sorry, I misread your question and thus gave the wrong answer. No, I don't know how to see your registration number. Under Opera 6 or 5 you used to be able to get it from one of the text files in your ~/.opera/ directory, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za

Opera 7.51 (YOU-updated after I installed SuSE 9.1) found my 6.x registration, which must have been somewhere in my ~/home directory, since that's the only partition that I preserved from SuSE 9.0. I suppose they have it encrypted now, to prevent just copying the number all over the place. However, only my account gets Opera ad-free. My wife sees the ads, and that's her account on the same SuSE machine (one monitor, no remote access, so we never use the machine simultaneously). I'll try renaming her .opera directory and copying mine over, to see if ads disappear for her, as well. If that works, I'll copy her files back in (with her preferences, history, etc.) until it breaks again. Yep, just as soon as I have absolutely nothing to do. :-) Kevin

That should do, just remember to chown that directory -- Kind regards Hans du Plooy Newington Consulting Services hansdp at newingtoncs dot co dot za
