Whenever I hot plug a USB device, the system will beep about 30sec. after the device is added. I wouldn't mind so much except for the fact that my keyboard is on a KVM switch and every time I switch back to my linux box, I get this beep. Somewhat annoying. I have checked the support database, but didn't find anything relevant. /var/log/messages doesn't show any errors... -Michael --------------------------------- Unfortunately, I'm at work right now and not near a (SuSE) Linux box, but know there is an option in an /etc/sysconfig/ file that turns hotplug beeps off. I did it, just because I didn't want the beeps at all. Sorry I can't recall the config file...maybe do a grep for beep in that directory? -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com

Bingo! Man, you guys are awesome! I know I've had a barrage of newbie-to-SuSE questions, but nearly all of them are being answered! Awesome! You people are making my transition from RHL to SuSE very quick! -Michael
