Hi there, I'm currently running junkbuster, a program that filters out all the crap that pollutes internet sites. Anyway, I copied the program and the configuration file that goes with it to the directory /usr/bin Now in order to run the program I need to run: $ junkbuster configfile & When I type 'junkbuster configfile &' from my home directory I get an error message, stating that the configuration file doesn't exist. However, when I do $ cd /usr/bin ; junkbuster configfile & it runs just fine. I don't get this and it doesn't make much sense to me. Can anyone please explain to me why I get this errror message? I'm very curious. Hi It looks to me as if junkbuster is looking for the config file in the current directory. As I understand it you have put the config file in the /usr/bin directory. Try the command: junkbuster /usr/bin/configfile Better yet is to avoid putting config files in the bin directories. I would put the file in my home directory if it was meant for me alone or in the /usr/local/etc directory if it was for 'public' consumption. And indeed that did the trick! I'll just move those the files to my home directory since I'm the only one using this PC anyway. Thanks for the help and the advice to you all.

It seems like the junkbuster program is looking at your current directory for the config file instead of where the junkbuster program is located. Do the following from your home directory: $ junkbuster /usr/bin/configfile & If this works, the problem is with how junkbuster looks for its config file. Same here - I added it to my home directory solved every 'problem'. I'm the only one using my system anyway!
p.s. for some reason, junkbuster doesn't allow the ~ substitution for your home dir in it's configfile.
