I don't know about Yast Online Update, but if you want kde 3.0.4 for either SuSE 8.0 or 8.1 then all the rpms you need are on SuSE's site. You don't need to wait for this to appear in YOU if you are in a hurry to get the latest and greatest. Go to $MIRROR_OF_FTP_SUSE_COM/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/KDE/ and to pub/suse/i386/update/8.1/rpm/i586/ where you will find patch rpms to bring 8.1 up to KDE 3.0.4 and rpms to bring 8.0 up to 3.0.4. Furthermore, if you are dead keen to get the latest stuff the minute it appears, keep going back to these ftp directories and ones near them and poking about. SuSE are commendably assiduous in trying to provide up-to-date rpms as things happen, and are to be congratulated on keeping so many balls in the air at once. There is an application available that does this for you, it's called the Advanced Package Tool (APT). Howto available at: http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm -- Richard

Fine, you wait then. You've been given two separate and valid methods of getting the update you desire on two versions of the distro. If the effort is too great, we can assume it's a matter of no urgency.

I installed KDE 3.04 with YOU Saturday with no problems. It is working fine. It was listed on the updates for 8.1. Art On Mon, 2002-10-14 at 04:03, Fergus Wilde wrote:
