Home building software
Dear All, I was wondering if anyone knew of any great linux software for drawing out homeplans, home design plans, etc? Maybe some of the existing software on suse 8.2 would work for this? Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Marcia

I'm using Cycas2 for doing exactly that. It's easy to use and automatically generates 3D from the plans, and can use povray to render projections. Came from www.cycas.de which is down atm... Dylan

To Dylan and Marcia: Is there any home design software for Linux in English? German is fine, if you can speak and read it fluently, which I cannot! :-(

Neither can I!! Cycas2 is in english - at least the rpm I have is. It's more a 3D cad app than an interiour design program. The free version uses a proprietry data format, but if you buy a licence it will exchage industry standard files for archetects, draftsmen and DTP purposes. Thank you Dylan for the info. The site is still down. I f the program is in German that could be difficult for me even though I was once fluent in German. I do not know of a Linux English program for this, but maybe someone else will. Thanks for the help and interest. Marcia
