Bad rpm.. Download it again.. Hate to say it but it does happen occasionally.

Mike - Thanx. As Francesco and Donn indicated, I needed to open a shell *as root* (big "duh" on my part) and then I did as you said and downloaded again. Worked fine. I had used Opera with RH 7.1 a couple of years back or so. I liked it, but was annoyed by the ads. v.8.5 looks nice but so far I see no reason to jump ship from Firefox. Kelly -- Kelly J. Morris

Art - Good points all. I use Gnome and and Firefox doesn't have a "download rpm" feature that I can see. Also, I listen to a lot of international radio stations via the Web and I haven't been able to figure out how to get Opera 8.5 to open .ram files, etc. I had the same problem with Opera and RH 7.1. Actually it was available through YOU (SuSE 9.3) also!

Ah, that's why I missed it - I have 9.2 and it's not available with 9.2.

I think Opera is just the best... even though it does not work well with gmail (rich editing for instance).

I'm trying it out while still using Firefox. It does appear to be faster, although a bit clumsier for a couple of things that I do. I'll try my gmail account with Opera to see what you mean. Thanx. Kelly -- Kelly J. Morris
