Hi: Suse 7.1 Linux 2.4.2 KDE 2.0.1 I get this <see subject> error message when I startx. KDE gets almost to the point of finishing its initialization, then hangs with this little error box. If I hit Ctrl-Alt-BS and startx again, all is well. This seems to happen all the time now. Any clues? Thanks. -- _______________________ Christopher R. Carlen Sr. Laser/Optical Tech. I really hate to say this, but have you tried clicking on it? It's not an error box, it is in fact kinternet ready to launch to assist you in setting up your modem connection. Regards Anders On Thursday 05 July 2001 16:21, Christopher R. Carlen wrote:

I should have mentioned that clicking on it doesn't do anything, it still sits there. When this box appears, I can't do anything else. It isn't just a box to help me, it is causing all IO to KDE to get frozen. Also, this is an installed system with kInternet already configured. For a few months after installing and setting up Suse 7.1, this message never appeared. Then it started to appear intermittently. Now it always appears, upon startx. _______________________ Christopher R. Carlen Sr. Laser/Optical Tech. Sandia National Labs
