Gtk themes not working properly (Suse 9)
Hi When I apply a gtk theme using the gnome control center the theme only last for the present session. If I log out and log in again the basic gtk theme is back. This apply to all gtk programs running inside kde (i call the gnome-control-center inside kde). When using gnome the themes are always working. How to tell kde to load the gtk theme on startup? Just as a note, I removed the QtPixmap package which forced gtk programs to use the kde theme. This is a tip to improve the performance of gtk programs inside kde. Thanks Gustavo

You have to have the "gnome-settings-daemon" running when you are in X..whether it's KDE or Gnome2. This is what keeps the themes working along with fonts and other such things. It doesn't take up many resources while running in the background. Give that a shot. -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.

You need to edit your ~/.gtkrc and ~/.gtkrc-2.0, I will some samples privately, it was too large for the list. Charles -- "Whip me. Beat me. Make me maintain AIX." (By Stephan Zielinski)
You need to have gnome-settings-daemon running (starting the theme manager starts it) Either add it to your Autostart folder, or download the version of control-center2 from www.usr-local-bin.org (it's in the Misc Stuff section) which does it on a system-wide basis.
