At a guess, .FM6 is Adobe FrameMaker 6? If it is, OpenOffice might be able to read them; otherwise, get them to print to PDF, and send you the PDFs. -- David Smith Work Email: Dave.Smith@st.com STMicroelectronics Home Email: David.Smith@ds-electronics.co.uk Bristol, England GPG Key: 0xF13192F2
Hi, Looks like it is FileMaker Pro file(s). One of the most popular database, btw. It runs on Win and Mac, on Linux there is only a server. You have to use vmware or win4lin to run FileMaker. On Wednesday, Mar 5, 2003, at 20:10 Europe/Helsinki, fsanta wrote:

Interesting... which bank? Telefónica sends receipts in .fp7 format, which I think are signed files with a pdf or html payload, requiring you to install a program in windows, as an extension to the "explorer" - meaning it is hard or impossible to use from wine. I forget the details. -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson

Hi. It's Caixaltea in Alfaz del Pi, Alicante. And yes, the info states internet explorer. But then again many other sites say that too so I'm not giving up just yet. BTW can you see the .fp7 files OK under Linux? That maybe put me more in the right direction. Un saludo, Steve.

Ah, a small one, then.

I use bsch and cam (Mediterraneo not Madrid), and so far, they do not "require" me to use IE - I'm lucky, lets keep my fingers crossed ;-)

As a matter of fact, no; but in the case of telefónica the only file in .fp7 format is provided as well as .pdf, only that they don't mention that the pdf is the same file, except not signed. Unfortunatelly, I reformated my windows partition shortly after running that test, and it doesn't seem I backed up that portion. I can check again, if you are interested. I guess it could be decoded :-? What I don't understand is why these people do not use, for example, acrobat signed files, which is a comercially available solution, and has legal value in Spain (I could make projects digitally signed with acrobat, officially accepted and stamped by my college). I don't know if the linux reader acepts those signatures, though :-? Somebody must have sold them a "private" solution. :-(
Un saludo, Steve.
