[opensuse] how to move a panel widget
Hi I'm using the 4.1 beta from the one click install. How do I move a widget on the panel from one place to another? Thanks -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Hi I'm using the 4.1 beta from the one click install. How do I move a widget on the panel from one place to another?
Right click on it, and select Begin move. Move it. Right click on it and end the move. This works (for me) for all but the KMenu widget. That one I've not yet managed to convince it to move. If it falls off or you remove it by accident, the quickest way to return it to the task bar is to add it to the desktop, and then drag/drop it back in the "right" location. Hi I don't have the option to right click 'begin move' I see that there are several new packages in factory so that might fix it. If not I'm stuck! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Hmmm.... neither do I anymore. It was there... I swear it was there :-P I cannot move the icons now either. I wonder why they pulled that out? I guess it's time to go looking to see what's up... something is missing. Moving icons is rather important. Maybe on the KDE bug tracker there is some hint what happened. Annoying isn't it? Do the developers read this list do you think? Cheers. L -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Annoying isn't it?
No more so than trying to get support for winoz here.

The description for this list is: opensuse English Generic questions and User to User support for the openSUSE distribution Why would you *expect* the "developers" to read this list. albeit, a few do on occasion. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

A new method for moving has been implemented by Aaron to allow you to move any item in the panel, menu and other plasmoids included. First, click on the 'cashew' on the right-hand end of the panel to pop up the panel config panel (you know, the thing with the left and right alignment icons and arrows to change the panel size). Now you will find that when you mouse over any of the plasmoids or icons on the panel the mouse pointer changes into a 4-way arrow and you can click and drag the item whereever you want on the panel. I'm guessing the rmb option may return at a later date, and probably also the ability to drag them off the panel, but it's still a work in progress.

That's why they're called developement betas, features are liable to change :-)

Yes, a couple of us do hang here, just not the real productive ones... John. -- Send instant messages to your online friends http://au.messenger.yahoo.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

That hasn't landed in the latest update on the openSUSE KDE4 Factory or Unstable repository. The 4-way icon is not shown, and the icons/widgets cannot be moved. Hopefully this shows up in the repo soon. C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I believe you have to unlock your widgets first. Worked for me, I get a "Start move of icon" entry on a panel icon right click. -- Jim Barnes -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

That is what it used to be like. If you've updated to 4.0.85, you don't have that option anymore. C -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
