to execute the .bin file you must first make it executable (the downloaded version probably is not). This can be done
with:
chmod 777 <filename>
Then as root, you can execute it with /.<filename>
Any other user only needs to enter the filename at the prompt (for both root and a user you need to be in the directory
the file is located).
Hope this is what you were looking for.

About a month ago, I downloaded the thing. I'm supposed to have a 56K
I downloaded the Windows and Linux versions while I was at lunch... Helps that work has a 1Mb connection to the backbone...:-)
If I could ever work out how .BIN files are installed, I'd happily cut both to a CD. The Windows version is not bad at all - for a Windows product, that is...:-)

Excuse me? Do you really want to make the file world-writable? Try chmod 755 filename
to execute the .bin file you must first make it executable (the downloaded version probably is not). This can be done with: chmod 777 <filename> -- James Ogley, Unix Systems Administrator, Pinnacle Insurance Plc james.ogley@pinnacle.co.uk www.pinnacle.co.uk +44 (0) 20 8731 3619 Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 7.x) This email was created and sent with Ximian Evolution 0.99.2 (RC2) NEW: Advogato diary at www.advogato.org/person/riggwelter
