We have just been sent a document which, from internal evidence,
seems to be "smartsuite word pro" (presumably Lotus?).
Does anyone out there know of Linux-available software which can
read this stuff (and, preferaby, convert it to something usable,
such as WordPerfect or, at a pinch, Word?
With thanks,
Ted.

I don't know but write both IBM and Lotus and ask for a Linux copy of Smartsuite. The more of us who do the better IMHO. I've done it two times and I've got two answers: 1st being some time 2000 and 2nd "no such plans". Sadly, "no such plans" seems to be the correct answer. The engineering boss of Lotus has said that the idea was considered, but that the code is completely tied into MFC, so a port would mean a rewrite. Ditto the Notes client which so many people want. When the WINE libraries become stable - they must be close now - maybe the position will change, but I have no knowledge of anyone except Corel taking this idea seriously. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
