evolution spell checking
Does anyone have this working in SuSE 9.0? How? A recent note from Mr. Ogley suggests using his ulb package of gnome-spell, but there isn't one. Henry Harpending

Yes, but I have nothing that shows up to check in that window: it is empty. Here is the output of rpm -qa | grep spell on my machine: gnome-spell-0.5-91 ispell-3.2.06-368 myspell-american-20020626-45 aspell-ca-0.50.2-50 ispell-american-3.2.06-368 aspell-en-0.51.0-143 aspell-devel-0.50.3-50 ispell-british-3.2.06-368 mozilla-spellchecker-1.5-100.SuSE.ulb.1 myspell-british-20021216-108 aspell-0.50.3-50 aspell-br-0.50.2-50 gtkspell-2.0.4-70 The evolution documentation says that one needs pspell, but the documentation is old, pspell is no more, and apparently you at any rate have it working without pspell? Can't have been very recent, as I don't do that package for SuSE 9.0. And why don't I? Because SuSE finally included it themselves! Install gnome-spell2 (it's 2 because it's the GNOME2 version, gnome-spell is also on the CDs, the GNOME1 version) -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 9.0). Yes, this fixed it. Those treacherous gnome names did me in: I had gnome-spell but not gnome-spell2 installed. Thanks, Henry Harpending
