KDE has built in parts that can do that (Korganizer and KAB), or to have an integrated environment, checkout Aethera (www.thekompany.com), which is coming together quite rapidly (it should be very usable in the next few months). Well up until recently you could have got OpenMail from HP, it may still be available. But they have stopped developing it iirc dids

HP has decided to discontinue openmail. !! This is due to the fact that HP
is having lots of difficulties worldwide. How nice it would be if only they
opened up the source after EOL.

Ive got evolution compiled ( finally after much effort ) and really like it, its only v0.10 at the moment so I guess a lot of functionality is missing, but I already prefer it to Korganiser and Kmail dids
