This is my config from /etc/X11/XF86Config: Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "Mouse[3]" Option "Device" "/dev/ttyS1" Option "InputFashion" "Tablet" Option "Mode" "Absolute" Option "Name" "STYLUS TABLET (SERIAL)" Option "Protocol" "Auto" Option "SendCoreEvents" "on" Option "Type" "stylus" Option "Vendor" "WACOM" EndSection Section "ServerLayout" . . InputDevice "Mouse[3]" "SendCoreEvents" . . EndSection

on 22 May 2002 19:19:24 +0000 tosi, thanks for the info.. my " server layout section has a couple of options
** Option "Clone" "off" ** Option "Xinerama" "off" ** Screen "Screen[0]" ** EndSection
( I musy have turned them on/off when I was playing w/ the video products moonlight ( nice 3-d app !) and some of the other audio/ visual stuff.
otherwise it looks the same as yours.. I shall attempt to see if gimp will let me use it it *should* but I didn't compile myself ( and a good thing too ! no doubt... <g>)
IF I can't get it to draw, I may come ask you some more questions, okay?

You should be able to set it up through YaST (mouse section of XF86 stuff). If you want to use gimp, you might want to change the names used in /etc/X11/XF86Config. Mine looks like ... Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "Pen" Option "Device" "/dev/ttyS0" Option "InputFashion" "Pen" Option "Mode" "Absolute" Option "Name" "GRAPHIRE TABLET (SERIAL)" Option "Protocol" "Auto" Option "SendCoreEvents" "on" Option "Type" "stylus" Option "Vendor" "WACOM" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "Wacom Mouse" Option "Device" "/dev/ttyS0" Option "InputFashion" "Tablet" Option "Mode" "Relative" Option "Name" "GRAPHIRE CURSOR (SERIAL)" Option "Protocol" "Auto" Option "Type" "cursor" Option "Vendor" "WACOM" EndSection Section "InputDevice" Driver "wacom" Identifier "Eraser" Option "Device" "/dev/ttyS0" Option "InputFashion" "Pen" Option "Mode" "Absolute" Option "Name" "GRAPHIRE ERASER (SERIAL)" Option "Protocol" "Auto" Option "Type" "eraser" Option "Vendor" "WACOM" EndSection ... Section "ServerLayout" Identifier "Layout[all]" InputDevice "Keyboard[0]" "CoreKeyboard" InputDevice "PS/2 Mouse" "CorePointer" InputDevice "Wacom Mouse" "SendCoreEvents" InputDevice "Pen" "SendCoreEvents" InputDevice "Eraser" "SendCoreEvents" Option "Clone" "off" Option "Xinerama" "off" Screen "Screen[0]" EndSection ... I can't remember if 8.0 gives the wacom devices sensible names. The names "Pen", "Wacom Mouse", and "Eraser" get picked up by gimp's input devices dialog and calling them Mouse[0], Mouse[1], Mouse[2], etc is very confusing. 7.3 certainly gave them these names.
