The OS/2 machine successfully mounts and accesses the exports from the 8.2 & 9.0 machines in all cases. The problem is the OS/2 machine can only mount and access the export from the 9.1 machine only if the 9.1 machine has mounted an export from either of the SuSE machines. If that is not currently done, the attempt to mount results in the following error message on the OS/2 system: IBM NFS of OS/2 MOUNT version 3.99 Release: m17 MOUNT: 192.168.1.91:/pub NFSU1003: Drive X: could not be attached to the filesystem NFSU1028: Error creating NLM client Use the following command to show the export list of the server: showexp 192.168.1.91 Note: The VM NFS server does not support this command On eCS "rpcinfo -p 192.168.1.90" returns: "rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC_SYSTEM_ERROR - RPC_SYSTEMERROR" On the 8.2 machine, the same command returns: program vers proto port 100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper 100000 2 udp 111 portmapper 100005 1 udp 913 mountd 100005 2 udp 913 mountd 100005 1 tcp 916 mountd 100005 2 tcp 916 mountd 100003 2 udp 2049 nfs 100003 2 tcp 2049 nfs 545580417 1 udp 707 bwnfsd 545580417 1 tcp 709 bwnfsd 100021 1 udp 32772 nlockmgr 100021 3 udp 32772 nlockmgr 100021 4 udp 32772 nlockmgr 100024 1 udp 32772 status 100021 1 tcp 32774 nlockmgr 100021 3 tcp 32774 nlockmgr 100021 4 tcp 32774 nlockmgr 100024 1 tcp 32774 status What needs changing on the 9.1 system so that OS/2 can successfully mount in every case? The purpose of the 9.1 machine is to replace the 8.2 as the main server, so much if not most of the time it will need to be the only SuSE box running. Bonus question: When I use the 9.1 box to mount the 8.2 export, I get the following message: nfs server reported tcp not available, falling back to udp Can some configuration option be changed so that tcp is used? Lacking that, can the message be suppressed in some way? -- "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 NIV Team OS/2 ** Reg.
