How can I tell if my network card has a problem
Dear all, I am experiencing a few problems with Samba lately and I would like to check and see if my network card is working properly, since I have almost eliminated any possibility of Samba not operating properly. Can someone point to me a few test that I could run and see if my network card is functioning properly? Thank you so much in advance. Chris

If this is a Samba-related issue, I'd recommend you to read the DIAGNOSTICS.txt file, somewhere on the tarball... go through the tests to check the Samba connectivity...

Surely there are a lot of better tests than this: a) ping your localhost for a loooong time - if you loose packets, be worried. b) ping a remote host (better in your LAN) for a looong time - check the lost packets ratio HTH, Martin
