For the last several versions of SuSE, at least the last year, there has always been a warning regarding the original GNOME file manager, gmc. When you install it, it says not to use it as root and to even be wary of it as a user. I've used mostly KDE over the years, but gmc is now at version 4.5.55. Is it still unstable and unsafe? It's as unsafe as Konqueror is to use as root...or as I did lastnight rm -rf the wrong file. It's just a warning because you can right click and delete stuff you don't mean to..or drag a file to the wrong directory and screw everything up. It's just a friendly warning. :) * Keith Winston (kwinston@twmi.rr.com) [020618 17:00]: ::For the last several versions of SuSE, at least the last year, there has ::always been a warning regarding the original GNOME file manager, gmc. ::When you install it, it says not to use it as root and to even be wary ::of it as a user. Thanks, Ben. I though maybe there was some well known bug that caused it to crash and take half the hard disk with it. Best Regards, Keith -- LPIC-2, MCSE, N+ Right behind you, I see the millions Got spam? Get spastic http://spastic.sourceforge.net
