*** Hey it can happen.***
how do I get it to start again? Is there a yast module for this?
Rob
Rob, were you doing something to the "cron.daily" script in /etc/cron.daily ??? look at it and see what dates are on the scripts: (All my scripts date back to last fall, but then I am running 8.1.) Accoring to man cron: Cron should be started from /sbin/init.d/cron, /etc/rc or /etc/rc.local. It will return immediately, so you don't need to start it with '&'. When cron runs can be set in YaST2's or KDE's runlevel editor. (YaST2 --> System ---> Run level editor) Cron should run at runlevels 2,3,and 5. You could open a Virtual Console (Ctrl-Alt-F1), log in as root and then do "init 3" and then back to "init 5" That should restart "cron". (There is probably an easier way, but this should work.) Also look at your clock.... did the battery die, whatever ???
