I can log in as a user as root, but when i try to su from a terminal window as a regular user, it says the password is incorrect. Any ideas why? Harry G

What does ls -l /bin/su tell you? My guess is it says -rwxr-xr-x Did you select "paranoid" permissions in yast's security settings? If so, log in as root and change it to 'secure'. Very many things will fail to work if you have it set to 'paranoid'

Very close! I had it set to "secure". I changed it back to easy, then no more problems. Is there a way to make "secure" to allow su access? Harry G
