after making the upgrade from 7.3 to 8.1 i cant print anymore. i always used hte lprold package and apsfilter package for printing to our IBM InfoPrint 40 PostScript printers. I still have my old printcap and apsfilterrc files and tried using the lprold and apsfilter rpms from 7.3 but that doesnt work. LPRng was broken on 8.1 'out of the box'. I'm not sure whether SuSE has provided a fix or not but I just grabbed the RPM from www.lprng.com for the 3.8.12 version. Well if you decide to compile it on your own. Get version LPRng-3.2.20. It works correctly.
