[opensuse] netbook & OpenSuse
Hi, I would like to "upgrade" the OS of my wife's eee-PC. Now it's running an Ubuntu-version for eee-pc but some applications have problems now, so I was considering installing OS 12.3 on it. Does anyone have experience with an eee-pc and a recent OpenSuse ? Does it work OK ? I already tried installing Ubuntu 12.04 on it but that's not a great success, the screen is not OK. Thanks for your info. Regards, Koenraad Lelong -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Have just installed openSUSE 12.2 on the EeePC 1000H and found no problems. Everything seems to work as expected. No Wifi here so I have not checked it. Had no OS12.3 ready. Otherwise I may have had that installed instead. Hi, Reporting back : 12.3 installed fine on a eeePC 1201HA. I installed XFCE as I thought KDE or Gnome where too heavy for the device. Regards, Koenraad Lelong. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

You would be correct Honestly though, by far the best performer for me on my eeepc is Mint Mate - currently using LMDE but Maya Mate is LTS and works wonderfully. And looks so much better than anything else. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

I'm running openSUSE 12.3 on a Asus Eee 701 with XFCE. The displaysize is 800x480px. I set a Virzaul Display in the xorg.conf, so I can use a 800x480px sector on a 1920x1080px Display. http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Xorg_RandR_1.2#the_Virtual_screen -- Ibrahim "Arastirmacilar" Yurtseven The web is what you make of it -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
