Hi, I'm wondering - must I reboot for my Suse 8.0 to realize that there's a PCMCIA card just been plugged in? Nick

Now way! PCMCIA is a hotplug device. It can be pulled/swapped/installed/whatever and the system should just go, "...oh, there you are! :)" You should make adjustments to the type of system (externel or kernel) module is loaded, and some other piddly settings, then you should be ready to rock. Good luck, hope this helps! TLO

Well. It don't. However, in Yast2 > Hardware >Hardware Info it has the line: PCMCIA: YES But when I ask Yast 2 to detect modems it says none found. I don't see an option in that Modem Configuration menu for PCMCIA modem. The card IS supported by Suse - at least, it worked perfectly fine under 7.2. It's a US robotics XJ1288 . Can anyone help?

I guess those piddly settings are what I'm looking for.

It gives me hope at least!! Nick
