Dear all, excuse me for this lame question: how do I upgrade from kernel X to kernel Y ?? Right now I don't have time to browse the docs searching for answers... go to www.kernell.org and download the kernel and read the README file -- Rolando Roman SuSe 6.4 Linux virtuoso 2.2.16 #1 Sun Jul 9 17:51:02 GMT 2000 i586 unknown -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
I don't wish to sound negative, but if you don't have time to read the
documents, then upgrading your kernal is most unwise...

Well get the latest kernel rpm from the suse site and install it with rpm -U kernel.rpm then run lilo. For instance if you want to move from the suse default 2.214 kernel to the default 2.2.16 kernel: Get the suse's k_deflt2216.rpm then: rpm -U k_deflt2216.rpm lilo -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
