[opensuse] can't add widgets kde4
Hi Since the last 2 updates, the last one yesterday, adding widgets fails. All it gives is a small circle in the top left of the screen which can be enlarged into an 'unknown widget'. I try this with picture frame, show dessktop and show dashboard. Can anyone confirm it's only me and how to fix it? I can confirm this. Some widgets do work... but most are doing the exact same thing for me... small circle in the top right. Something broke in the last update. Wait a day or two and they'll get it sorted :-) I hope they hurry.. I liked the Picture Frame widget... I want it back. Oh, I also find that adding new widgets using the "from the Internet" option never actually makes them available to be used/added. I am trying a separate download next (from kde-look.org) to see if that makes a difference. For example, I can't seem to add a widget for gsynaptics, konsole, kppp, etc. I can't seem to add them to the taskbar either. At least not like in the past with KDE 3.5 and all previous versions. Is it a bug or is there a new way to do it. Also right clicking on the desktop no loger seems to give an option to add a new icon, or in this case widget. Any ideas? We were talking about testing the kde 4.1 beta. Things get fixed and broken there all the time. I only used the kde 4.0 from the SuSE 11.0 dvd for a few hours before I decided to go for the Factory repository. KDE 4.1 is due on 29th. and it may be better waiting for that than trying to get your 4.0 working. Yeah, I'll definately update after the end of the month, thanks. But also thanks for the tip about the desktop folder, sounds like a good idea. It's only a test system at this point, so I'm playing with it until I get it stable.
