I use OpenSuse 11.1 and the Gnome desktop from the main repository. When I select the shut-down option from the main menu, then it just logs off the session and I am taken to the login screen. I have to select "shut down" there again in order to turn the computer off. On the other hand, if I use KDE 4.2.1 or XFCE, the shutdown option works correctly.
