Re: [SLE] How to install from harddisk?
After I have booted on the bootdisk and have the choice of installation source I choose harddisk and points out the partition /dev/hdc3 and directory /cdrom it says it cant find the image. I switch to console 3 with Alt-F3 and can see that it tries to find /?????/loopmount/cdrom/suse/setup/inst-img, but that file or directory does not exist on the ftp. What should I do? I already have SuSE 7.1 installed if that matters.
Would anyone mind checking if the suse/setup directory of their SuSe 7.2 CDROM containst inst-img? I'm under the impression that it would be legal for people who have the CD to e-mail me that file. -- Bart Szyszka bart@gigabee.com ICQ:4982727 GigaBee ...is here to save the Web! http://www.gigabee.com

I've tried doing exactly what you want to do, but have failed. The file 'inst-img' doesn't exist: it's uncompressed image... from where, I don't know. The DOS batch file called 'lhdsetup.bat' is supposed to copy all the necessary files onto the hard drive, but it fails at the point where the image is decompressed: gzip -dc ... > root The input file doesn't exist... :( I'm currently writing an email to SuSE Tech Support. -- noodlez: Karol Pietrzak PGP KeyID: 0x3A1446A0

Eureka, I found it! gzip -dc /<mount-point>/suse/images/root > /<mount-point>/suse/setup/inst-img I now have a fresh upgraded SuSE 7.2 on my machine! /Stefan
