[opensuse] zyxel adsl modem as bridge?
All, my ageing Zyxel ADSL box is beginning to act a little strangely (lock-ups getting more and more frequent), so I'm thinking of replacing it. I like and I'm comfortable with the Zyxel boxes, so I was looking at the 660ME. It says it can be run in bridge mode, which would mean running pppd+pppoe on my firewall - I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with such a setup? thanks Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (19.8°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

When mine (which is not a zyxel) does that, I do a factory reset, and then I upload my saved config to the modem/router. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. I forgot to mention that mine tends to "act up" in summer, so now it has an external fan, extra, hacker fashion. Works wonders. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Mine has only recently started having this problem - probably only the last 1-2 months. It's now in an airconditioned datacenter (21C), whereas before it had up to 30C. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (17.5°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thanks, that's not a bad suggestion. I was thinking of re-flashing the software too. /Per -- Per Jessen, Zürich (19.0°C) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
