error when ripping mp3's with Konq. Note: It's a new development.
Anyone know what this means...I get the message when I'm trying to use the audio_slave in Konq to convert a CD to mp3's. Granted I haven't ripped a CD since I was running 7.3 so I don't know if it's an 8.1 thing. I have all the latest lame pkgs installed including lame-libs. The error is: An error occured while loading audiocd:/: The file or directory / does not exist. Thanks for any suggestions. :) -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe.. I tell you what you should see.

I've had this happen also in 8.0 ripping to .ogg as user Working in file manager as su found the file or directory / and everything worked. Permissions configured wrong somewhere? I never did find the answer. I was hoping 8.1 would resolve the problem -- Jim Barnes -- Certainly the game is rigged. It could be a couple of things. You could have the audio slave set for the wrong device. Check in control centre. It's not always that "auto" works, so try setting the device manually. Or if you're using ide-scsi emulation it could be that you don't have sufficient permissions on the /dev/sg* device. //Anders -- 'Deserves [death]. I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.' --Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings

It was combo of two things... 1. Lame/Lame libs compiled for 7.3 and they weren't upgraded. 2. Permissions. Solved by changing group for hda and by compiling the lame software myself. It works. :) Thanks! -- Ben Rosenberg ---===---===---===--- mailto:ben@whack.org Tell me what you believe.. I tell you what you should see.
