Hi
Has anyone been using Ximian 1.2.1 for a few months and noticed a
degradation in performance when loading up.
I'm having a startup time of 3mins with the hard disk permanently on
reading something. I think it is Ximian data file(s) causing the long
delay in starting up but I'm not sure howto check what is wrong.
Once it's started it runs ok.
In top the CPU usage is really low when retrieving mail 3.9% CPU.
In /home/funky/evolution/local/linux/subfolders/Suse-linux-e
I noticed mbox file is 11Mb is that the answer that it is quite large?
I'm at a lost as to why startup is so slow.

This is a real pet peeve of mine, the software is called Evolution, not Ximian. Ximian are the company that employ most of the developers.

It certainly could be that, do you never delete mails from the list? My SLE mbox file is only 12K! Have you checked the Evolution FAQ (on Ximian's website) or Ximian's Bugzilla? There may be some info there... -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1).
