Hey Group; I recently requested info on gphoto and gphoto2. thanks for the 2 suggestions of gtkam, and digikam. Both are nice but seem to lack some functions via the GUI. Back to gphoto2 at the command line in SuSE 8.2. I am getting a timeout error dealing with /dev/ttyS0 (which is the correct port). So gphoto2 suggests trying this command: env LANG=en_US gphoto2 --debug \ --camera="Olympus:D-340R" --port="/dev/ttyS0" This error shows up: /usr/lib/gphoto2_port/0.5.1/libgphoto2_port_serial.la' is not a library\ (/usr/lib/gphoto2_port/0.5.1/libgphoto2_port_serial.la: invalid ELF header) NOTE: /usr/lib/gphoto2_port/0.5.1/ which contains 4 files -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 831 2003-03-13 19:56 libgphoto2_port_serial.la* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 14662 2003-03-13 19:57 libgphoto2_port_serial.so* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 821 2003-03-13 19:56 libgphoto2_port_usb.la* -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 13081 2003-03-13 19:57 libgphoto2_port_usb.so* These are straight off the CD's plus any upgrades. Normally I would just download and recompile the source but nothing seems to compile properly including kernels. Thing that worked correctly for year now don't! -- 73 de Donn Washburn __ " http://www.hal-pc.org/~n5xwb " Ham Callsign N5XWB / / __ __ __ __ __ __ __ 307 Savoy St. / /__ / / / \/ / / /_/ / \ \/ / Sugar Land, TX 77478 /_____/ /_/ /_/\__/ /_____/ /_/\_\ LL# 1.281.242.3256 a MSDOS Virus "Free Zone" OS Email: n5xwb@hal-pc.org Info: http://www.knoppix.net
