How to manually set full-duplex on NIC?
I have a RealTek NIC, supported under the rtl8139 module in SuSE 7.2.
When I initialise the network interface I get the following diag:
kernel: eth0: Setting half-duplex based on auto-negotiated partner ability
0000.
It seems the auto-negotiation is setting it to half-duplex for some reason.
How can I manually put the RealTek into full-duplex mode?

In 6.4 there is a command mii-diag (I assume it is still there in 7.2) that will let you set the speed/duplex, but I wouldn't suggest it. It sounds like autonegotiate is working correctly, and whatever you are connecting to (based on the above) does not support full duplex.
