[opensuse] KDE44 - Random Apps Crashing Frequently - No DrKonqi?? Can Anybody Confirm?
Listmates, I have the latest 44 as of earlier today. Ever since I installed KDE4.4, I have had apps randomly crashing and providing NO indication that a crash has occurred. At first I thought it was just due to the first set of rpms, because there have been a couple of major updates to the kde44 repos in the past 2 days (or maybe the repo is rebuilding on its own and assigning new versions when it does) However, after updating with 3 full 1+G batches of files, I am seeing the exact same behavior currently. It has been all kinds of apps that crash, krunner, konqueror, firefox, gimp, etc. so it isn't just the kde apps that are affected. The strange part about it is there is NOTHING triggering drkonqi or any other notice dialog to tell you that a crash has occurred or prompting you file a bug report. Konqueror (in filemanagement mode - detailed view) crashes EVERY time you close it causing you to be prompted whether to restore the previous session every time you start it. Has anyone else experienced this? This is on 11.0 x86_64 with all kde 44 versions up to the current: Platform Version 4.4.00 (KDE 4.4.0) "release 222" -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. In the past hour, I have had firefox crash ~6 times, systemsettings crash ~3 times, krunner crash ~5 times, etc.. Is anyone else seeing this? If so, have you heard of a fix? I'm current on packages through about an hour ago, same behavior from kde44 install to the present. Anywhere in particular to look? Current .xsession-errors at: (140k) http://www.3111skyline.com/dl/bugs/kde4/xsession-crashes_02.txt.bz2 Yes, that's 7M worth of xsession errors.... What's Up? -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E. Is anyone else seeing this? I'm having spurios random crashes of konsole which is really bad because it takes all apps started from that console to digital nirvana. I'm not sure but I think it starte with 4.4 rc2 or rc3. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
