I installed apt-get and synaptic on 8.1 and am getting some odd output. I'm running apt-get .5.4 cnc8,synaptic .24 rb1, apt-devel .5.4cnc8, or those were the rpm's I installed. when i run synaptic sometimes i see this error in the Konsole Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkprogress.c: line 518 (gtk_progress_set_percentage): assertion `percentage >= 0 && percentage <= 1.0' failed. Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkprogress.c: line 518 (gtk_progress_set_percentage): assertion `percentage >= 0 && percentage <= 1.0' failed. But it still seems to install fine. Sometimes However after downloading packages i get conflicts, even though they weren't reported before the download. i didn't snip this one but i believe it had to do with libdvd, and mplayer. Am i using the wrong apt and synaptic? is there one for 8.1? also can i download stuff from 8.0 and install it. I mean add 8.0 stuff to sources.list and will the packages work? Franklin

I have come across this while using Synaptic, but it continues to work ok. Brian Marr Suse 8.0
