Password generators
Hi all! I met a guy long time a go that had a nifty little program for his palmpilot. He was a administrator for a "multi server" company. They had a few hundred servers running. The program generated a password from a combination of IP number and machine name. It yielded the same password every time. As i recall, the program generated a password from a combination of IP number and machine name. It yielded the same password every time. The password "generated" was some 15-20 characters long, and seemingly a hash of some kind. Does anyone know of a similar program for Linux (Or PalmPilot for that matter) Prefarable it would be customizeable with my own parameters so "no one can guess" what hash algorithm i use... -- /Rikard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- email : rikard.j@rikjoh.com web : http://www.rikjoh.com mob: : +46 (0)763 19 76 25 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >

That is monumentally stupid. If you need a real password generator, SUSE includes pwgen, or you can search google with this string "apg online".

It wasnt for generating new ones, it was for remembering hundreds of passwords to the various servers and softwares... I know about pwgen and a few others. -- /Rikard ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- email : rikard.j@rikjoh.com web : http://www.rikjoh.com mob: : +46 (0)763 19 76 25 ------------------------ Public PGP fingerprint ---------------------------- < 15 28 DF 78 67 98 B2 16 1F D3 FD C5 59 D4 B6 78 46 1C EE 56 >
