Hi Suser's Does anybody knows any available freeware tools for clustering high availability implementation in Suse Linux ? We are purchasing Suse 7.0/7.1 distribution and i am task to test and configure the server and the management want to implement the clustering with high availability and redundancy. SuSE Linux 7.1 contains the hearbeat package (www.linux-ha.org). That's for HA, for Beowulf type clustering the tools have been in for a long time. drdb for disk mirroring over the network is also included. We've drdb running in production at at least one customer site, an email server. Anyway, I'd suggest a nice shared storage hardware, drdb is the "cheap" solution...
