[opensuse] OSE 11.2 Not Seeing Wireless AP
Hardware: Lenovo G530 laptop OS: OSE 11.2 (x86_64) with all available patches thru this morning Briefly, WiFI worked fine on this same hardware under 11.1. I have been using a wired connection until purchasing and installing a Belkin router configured as an access point. My BlackBerry and Windows Vista (dual booted on same G530) connected and configured fine. I am using WPA2 with shared key. I had SSID advertising turned off but turned it back on trying to get 11.2 working with it. I am using NetworkManager under KDE4. The Network Connections screen shows the Wireless tab greyed out. If I switch to YaST (ifup), it sees the AP. I have seen other threads that mention enabling the wireless connection but have not been able to find where to do that. Both my 11.1 desktop and 11.2 connect to the same AP using a conventional wired connection just fine. Found it! The Broadcom 4300 series wireless driver was not loaded.Downloaded the drivers (base + kernel specific), rebooted and everything was there as before.
