Hi, Thanks for the help but this didn't work for me - I got a long text requesting that I setup the dhcpd - this seems counter intuitive to me. Anyway, I still have the problem... Hi, I am using a laptop and moving around my company's building doing support work. As I move around the network (to different subnets) I have to pop-out the PCMCIA network card and then put it back in so that I get a new IP address.
I'm assuming that there is a better way to so this, some command I'm missing... <snip>
Assuming the pcmcia card is configured as eth0, the following command with assign an IP address from a dhcp server : dhcpcd eth0 Hope this helps.
