[opensuse] Ripping out hair - Update for 10.3 Broken?
Hi all, I'm ripping out my hair. Since last week I have continuously update problems from opensuse 10.3: In CLI (Ctrl-Alt-1) and init 3 (because I need updates for acpi that freezes system when KDE is up): running yast: Error message occurs - curl error from http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/ Error Code: Unreconized Error Error Message: connect() timed out! Then I press OK, Then I press Retry ....then it downloads and works every time !!! (IPV6 deactivated - as some advised when searching Internet for similar problem) When I click on retry, it does it fine. It does it on many-many 'patches' - ALWAYS the SAME patches like 'patch-evolution-4878.xml' or 'patch-flash-player-5161.xml' . It will take hours to click retry every time. How can retry be automated? :-( Al -- "Feel free" - 10 GB Mailbox, 100 FreeSMS/Monat ... It can well be that the mirror you are being redirected fails. You "might" learn which mirror it is by looking at yast logs, and then report it to... perhaps Peter Poeml or Bugzilla. And to solve the situation meanwhile, change te configuration so that instead of the redirector it uses a mirror directly. If you choose one that doesn't work, try another. There is a big list on the wiki. And you can use links or lynx as text mode web browser on the CLI, to read the wiki :-) - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Unfortunately you can only find which mirror from squid logs, wireshark or something similar, yast and zypper don't record the mirror in their logs only download.opensuse.org.
