Download Kazaa Lite ( version 1.7.2 , i use this version and it works ) Dowload recent version of Wine install wine run wine , choose win 98 installation, other default settings should be fine Kazaa needs some win 98 DLL's : commctrl.dll comctl32.dll comdlg32.dll msvcrt.dll shdoclc.dll shdocvw.dll shlwapi.dll urlmon.dll wininet.dll Download them and copy them to ~/.wine/fake_windows/Windows/System cd ~/.wine vi config insert the following near the end of the config file: [AppDefaults\\kazaa.exe\\DllOverrides] "commctrl" = "native" "comctl32" = "native" "comdlg32" = "native" "msvcrt" = "native" "shdoclc" = "native" "shdocvw" = "native" "shlwapi" = "native" "urlmon" = "native" "wininet" = "native" [Version] "Windows"="win98" install Kazaa wine kazaa_lite_172_english.exe and now you can hopefully run it :-) cd ~/.wine/fake_windows/Program\ Files/KaZaA\ Lite/ wine Kazaa.exe - -- Yannick Van Osselaer Public Key: wwwkeys.us.pgp.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE+rspb93+qyX+enAERAthHAJ9H1QKdhjO1BnTLWyR7QPLbda9PBACfQ9TW LvMOEnKTjbq7kBM6HrLeBiM= =F7EU -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Thanks.. I got it running for one session... Now my issue is that I booted my machine and tried to get back to Kazaa.. Everything else works like charm, searching, navigating back and forth the kazaa GUI except Traffic-screen. I can't access that anymore with out craching the whole application (and wine ass well) I get Wine debug console with hundreds of rows of debug data, but I really can't figure out what went wrong. Any clues ? P_s This is the end of the debug listing.... Unhandled exception: stack overflow in 32-bit code (0x406ec09c). Hey p_s, I don't have any help for the problem, other than to ask if you've tried Pyslsk (Python SoulSeek)? Here's the url if you want to at least check it out: http://www.sensi.org/~ak/pyslsk/ I use it all the time, it's decent and has a lot of users, both windoze and linux.
