RE: [SLE] !SANE. Grrr... (sorry, kinda long)
Hi!, Thanks for responding so quickly. Anthony wrote: "Did you add your device to /etc/usbmgr/usbmgr.conf (I think that is the file, there is a device configuation in there somewhere)." After upgrading from 7.0 to 7.2 the usbmgr package was no longer installed on my system. I assumed this was part of the upgrade due to installing the 2.4.4-4GB kernel or a preperation on the part of SuSE to move over to hotplug in the future. Do you think I should install usbmgr? Cheers, Thom

Hmmm... USBMgr was automatically installed on my system (I say automatically because I surely didn't pick it when I was installing things). I do know that my device now works. Another thing you may need to do is download the updated library files. I know I had some issues as well with the libraries that shipped with SuSE 7.2, but I don't know whether I got the device to work before I downloaded the updates or after. Again I think this is available on the freecolormanagement site. A lot of good information on configuring the Epson Scanners is available there.
