[opensuse] unclear message after update of java-1_6_0
After the latest zypper dup I got an update for java-1_6_0- openjdk-1.6.0.0_b24.1.11.3-6.2. The accompanying text gives me additional rpm output. I am trying to make sense of the warnings. Can somebody help me out? Should I take action and if yes, what? ------------------- Installing: java-1_6_0-openjdk-1.6.0.0_b24.1.11.3-6.2 [done] Additional rpm output: update-alternatives: warning: forcing reinstallation of alternative /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.6.0-openjdk/bin/java because link group java is broken. update-alternatives: warning: not replacing /usr/share/applications/policytool.desktop with a link. -- Linux User 183145 using KDE4 on a Pentium IV , powered by openSUSE 12.1 (i586) Kernel: 3.4.3-30-default KDE Development Platform: 4.8.4 (4.8.4) "release 513") 18:33pm up 18:00, 3 users, load average: 1.26, 1.30, 1.12 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Then you have to ask in the factory mail list, not here. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. Nope, it should stay here, because the message shows up for everyone on 12.1; you just have to run "zypper patch", i.e. no move-the-mouse tool ;-) FWIW, I've temporarily removed all java related stuff and re-installed the packages again (had trouble with stale sym-links in /etc/alternatives in the past): # rpm -e --nodeps icedtea-web java-1_6_0-openjdk # rm -rf /var/lib/rpm/alternatives/j{ava,avaplugin,re*} # zypper in --no-recommends java-1_6_0-openjdk icedtea-web Cheers. l8er manfred -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
