Hi everyone, Did I read wrong, or is XFree86 4.0 suppose to be on the SuSE CD-ROMs somewhere? I didn't see it when I installed my brand-new SuSE 6.4 CD-set, but I thought I had read it was there... The version on the second CD is not the newest one, better download it from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.0-SuSE -- MfG Waldemar Brodkorb Linux rulez! -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

It's on cdrom 2 in the /unsorted directory. You have to manually go to that folder. ie. mount the cd and access the folder. There's a brief guide on installing XFree4 at SuSE's database. Just search for installing XFree4.0 and it'll come up. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
Hi, In the same context, can i upgrade my Xfree86 3.3.5 to 4.0. I am currently running 6.3 with kernel 2.2.13. Can i use the 6.4 CDs to upgrade the X server only and leave the other stuff in 6.3 untouched?? Raghav Prasanna Krishnan wrote:

Yep, you probably could. But you can also check out /pub/suse/i386/X/XFree86/XFree86-4.0-SuSE/suse63 on the Suse ftp site. Some time back an announcement from Suse was made pointing people to the above area. Read the README in the preceding dir as I believe it details what steps need to be taken.
