[opensuse] Another problem with KMail
Has anyone else seen this problem in Kmail version 3.5.7 "release 72" in SuSE 10.3 ? Going through my mail an deleting the mail I tried to empty the wastebin only to find that 12 messages are deleted. In the right hand pane I see all the messages with lines through them but they won't get deleted. Nothing moves until I move to another folder and back to the wastebin and again empty the wastebin. Again only 12 messages are deleted. -- Clive. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/c.rogers/ Fighting for darker skies. Anyone figured out how to empty the wastebin without shutting down Kmail to do so ? -- Kindest regards, Clive. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/c.rogers/ Fighting for darker skies. Compact the folder. Right-click, compact folder. I added the "compact all folders" button the the toolbar. That does the trick. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Unless I'm missing something, and I don't think I am, you go to "Trash" in KMail, then "edit" then "select all files" then hit the delete key. This should (and does, at least in 9.3) delete all those files. I just deleted about 250 of them. Now you can go to the main trash can, in the KDE screen, and empty that. There should now be no deleted files in the system. And I did all this in the middle of composing this reply in KMail, without shutting it down. --doug -- Blessed are the peacemakers ... for they shall be shot at from both sides. --A.M. Yes this is the normal way of doing it and it worked fine in all versions of SuSE until I got to 10.3. Even trying to compact all folders and deleting the read mail will not delete the wastebin. Only 12 or so e-mails will get deleted each time I click empty wastebin under the right mouse button. -- Kindest regards, Clive. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/c.rogers/ Fighting for darker skies. Hi Clive Please make a bug report for this, tell us exactly which packages you are using and which type of IMAP account you have. Thanks Will -- Desktop Engineer KDE Team -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Since re-installing SuSE 10.3 now when I empty the wastebin the bin empties completely. Looks like something went wrong in the last installation but I have no idea what. -- Kindest regards, Clive http://homepage.ntlworld.com/c.rogers/ Fighting for darker skies. Hi all, I have found that if I have read all the emails then the wastebin will be emptied all bar one or two mails. If a lot of the emails are not read (not interested in the content etc) then I am back to 12 emails being deleted each time I hit empty wastebin under the right mouse click. -- Kindest regards, Clive. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/c.rogers/ Fighting for darker skies.
