Hello, Toss up on which list to post this, but this one won. What is all the stuff in: /usr/src/linux-2.4.10.SuSE/arch/sparc? Is this what I'm hoping it is? It would be nice to not have to buy yet another version of SuSE for my sparc. Am I dreamin'? BTW, this is in 7.3Pro. If this isn't what it is, then why is it there? I'm just very curious. Thanks, Tom -- TRBishop tb64710@alltel.net SuSE 7.3 Pro
You can download all 5 .iso's from SuSE's site. SuSE has been producing a Sparc version of the distro for a very long time. Hence my being pissed about Sun wanting to have their own stuff and not work with an existing distribution..morons. ;) Check the ftp site for the .iso's. * Thomas Bishop (tb64710@alltel.net) [020212 15:41]: ->Hello, ->Toss up on which list to post this, but this one won. Hi Ben, Yes, I know, but in a word.......dialup. I don't have a big problem with buying the sparc version, but if I already have the tools...... You are right to be pissed about SUN. They *really* give a whole new meaning to the word proprietary. Found that out just trying to put together this pizza box. Thanks, Tom -- TRBishop tb64710@alltel.net SuSE 7.3 Pro

Yes, I think you are. Because that is the sparc section in the kernel source, but for running your full Linux on a sparc you need the applications compiled for sparc too. So I would say, you've to downlod the ISOs or buy suses package... Well, I'll probably always be a dreamer, but I guess I'll have to move on to something else. Thanks for clarifying the kernel source thing for me, though. Tom -- TRBishop tb64710@alltel.net SuSE 7.3 Pro
