guess you don't have the repository installed: 11:49 wahoo: > webpin -d 10.3 hplip Query URL: http://api.opensuse-community.org/searchservice/Search/Simple/openSUSE_103/h... ... - 2.8.2 [BS::home:/enzokiel(S:n) | BS::home:/anubisg1(S:n)] {src} (NEWER) @ http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/enzokiel/openSUSE_10.3 @ http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/anubisg1/openSUSE_10.3 ps: webpin is *really* handy. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Note, there's not any reference to 2.2.10* there.....all the openSUSE sites only refer to 2.2.8*. 2.2.10* SHOULD be available from the openSUSE.org site so it is shown for everyone when checking for updates. Version 2.2.10* is what someone listed here yesterday as the new release. Fred -- A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Sorry.......2.8.2-7.1 is more current listed. Fred -- A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text. Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The updates for hplip (and thousands of others) may NEVER be found in YOU. If you configure the correct build service repository for a package, you CAN use Software Manager to upgrade packages to a newer version. It has been this way for a very long time.
