Never got an answer but found in the mean time that the question was answered by someone who I would describe as having a loose lip. Haven't spend time on the solution but it is still on my list.
Did you ever get a reply to your question, because I would like to know who to do that too?

If you mean a device that enables you to read and write smart media via a floppy disk then there was a project to use them which died due to lack of interest. I would suggest using a USB device instead. /Michael -- This space intentionally left non-blank.
