Please help - Netatalk Printing Problem
Hi, I am having big printing problem with CUPS and Netatalk, both from SuSE 8. In short, all files I am trying to print from Linux are being printed fine, while printing via Netatalk (from MacOS 9 or X) does not work - jobs simply lost somewhere. I have Epson 1290 connected via USB, using CUPS-GimpPrint drivers. From Linux with lpr command I have been able to print PostScript files which are as large as 500 MB. From the, Mac even 100 KB files are being lost, without any message from MacOS 9 or MacOS X spooler. Only old 68k macOS 8 thrown error -192. However, small text files can be printed with no problems. Here is my papd.conf: TestPS2Printer:\ :pr=|/usr/bin/lp -d test:\ :pd=/etc/atalk/Stylus_Photo_1290-gimp-print.ppd:\ :op=root: I have changed op from root to daemon, replaced :pr=|/usr/bin/lp -d test:\ with :pr=|/usr/bin/lpr -Ptest:\, reinstalled cups and gimp-print, but the problem remain. Please note that Netatalk file sharing working fine, I have used the same ppd files in papd.conf and Mac LaserWrite PostScript driver, tryed many different options, resolution, and images, verified permission for printing in CUPS (all users are allowed to print), but nothing helped. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Andrei
