What doesn't work is if you want the device icons on your desktop, they don't happen. Is it me or are we seeing a LOT of broken "updates" lately? Kernel, kde, k3b,... OOPS. It started again. Unless I've been sleeping when I log in. I reinstalled Kdebase3-extra and now it's working right. Thanks to Anders. Rich

You need to install kdebase3-extra, that's where the "devices" protocol description is
